first mover advantage - hãy chủ động ra tay trước

There is this theory of the "first mover advantage" in the business world. In layman terms, it means that the company or business that makes the first move (introduce a new concept, product or new method of working) will be at a distinct advantage.

Not to be a jerk and associating the dating world with business transactions (though if you take a cold look at it, everything IS essentially a "business transaction"), there are merits in making the first move, especially so if you are a guy (in which socially, you are expected to do so). As the saying goes - "things won't simply take care of themselves" (or if you want to put it bluntly, you only live once).

Applying this to attraction and seduction, YOU have to make things happen !

If there's a girl/guy you want to get to know or talk to, just go and talk to him/her. Granted, there will be times when that person gives you some kind of signal or he/she will make the first move, if you wait for that signal, it will probably never come. Likewise, say you've started a conversation and you want to get his/her number (this is particularly so if you're a guy) - GO AND ASK.

Our lives are essentially a culmination of choices (transactions) that we make day in and day out. And all these choices will lead to different outcomes. One thing's for sure, if you do nothing, you get nothing (this continues to haunt me even today when I make choices to procrastinate or slack off at work).

Think about it. How many times have you doubted yourself? How many times have you told yourself this is not possible and gave up/ never started at all? How many guys/girls have you liked but never took up the courage to approach them and tell them how you felt? How many of them may have actually liked you as well but you'll never know ! Here is a secret I'd like to share with you (apart from you only live once) -

"Don't screw up the best things in life just because you're a little unsure of yourself" - PERIOD.

With girls, guys, yourself, life etc. Doors are always open around you, some easy to see and others harder. The choice to step through can only be made by YOU. Make things happen and take things into your own hands. Opportunities die off sooner than you know it. It is better to take action even at the prospect of failure, than walking around "regretting this and regretting that". After all, we only live once.
